Ravelympics Are a Go!

Yay! While watching the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies I cast on and started knitting up on a Hamamelis Shawl (rav link) using yummy Sanguine Gryphon Bugga! in Marpesia Marcella – a very nice color, if I do say so myself.

It’s turning out very pretty and I have one repeat of the lace section done after two hours of work… not too bad!

Of course, this is totally a pattern that will bloom open when blocked, so now it looks like a scrunchy mess. But I promise you it will look pretty in the end! 😉

I absolutely love the winter Olympics (the summer ones too, of course) and am really looking forward to watching them while knitting up a storm! My current plan is to finish some WIP’s and to finish the Hamamelis shawl. Not sure though if I will instead just do a bunch of shawls to make a dent in my goal of 20 shawls for 2010… I’m still deciding. Procrastinator? Me? What makes you say that? 😉

While I can’t be an Olympiad in any sense of the word, my dogs sure did try to when out playing in the snow after the big snow storm we had on Wednesday. They had a blast and even looked a little athletic… well if you squint hard and stand back that is!

And like all good Olympiads, they even posed for the camera afterwards!

I guess it’s a good thing that some of us – Olympiads and dogs all over – are enjoying all the snow! 😀

  1. Good luck with the Ravelympics! I’m casting on my first project today!

I love love love the pictures of your dogs, they are so cute! Looks like they had fun in the snow!

  2. I cast on for some Vilai socks by Cookie A. during the ceremonies. Didn’t get very far before I started to fall asleep while knitting and didn’t see much of the ceremonies after the parade of athletes! I must be getting old!

  3. Love the shawl, and the doggies really need a gold medal, Mom! Maybe next time, as I am sure we are not done with Old Man Winter yet.

Good luck with your 20 in 2010!
