Yes, there is a Giveaway at the bottom of this post!
So we’re officially in the Dog Days of summer! I always liked the wording of these hottest days of the season, although I always thought it was pretty ironic that they were named that as I have never heard of any dogs that actually liked the heat! And before anyone asks, yes I do in fact know why it’s called Dog Days.
My dogs definitely do not enjoy the heat all that much… they’d much rather hang out in the A/C during the hottest days. And we sort of are house-bound for now as poor little Hitchcock had an anal gland issue and had to go through surgery on Monday! It was a minor surgery and he’s recovering very well, but it does mean that we’re stuck indoors until he recovers. So that means lots of hugs and kisses from mom,
playing with some toys (or in Hitchcock’s case just laying on the toys!),
getting some chest rubs (Kubrick’s favorite!)
that hit the right spot.
Of course this means kissing mommy as a thank you!
So in honor of my two favorite dogs, I’m officially naming this giveaway the Dog Days of Summer! Unofficially, of course, this giveaway is my moving giveaway. These are the yarns that I’ve had around on my destash page for a while and no one has claimed them. These are yarns that, though very pretty, just don’t fit in my cabinet anymore and thus must go on living their lives elsewhere. They are all very nice, well behaved and housebroken to boot. What more can we ask for? Without further ado, here are the six (yes I said SIX!) skeins up for grabs:
In addition one of the six winners will also get a copy of the Fall 2009 issue of Interweave Knits magazine. It’s an issue I have two copies of, so I’d like to see it go to someone who can use it!
So how does this work? You have until Monday, August 9 to put in a comment on this post. And because this is for the dogs, if you have a question that you have been dying to ask about the dogs (or a question for them – I will translate as best I can), you can include that in your comment too. Just for fun. 😉 Also in the comment, please state your top 3 wanted skeins in order of preference. This will help me when assigning skeins to winners. After the contest is over, I will use a random number generator to pick 6 winners. This makes it more fun because there are greater chances of winning! Oh and this contest is open to any and everyone who wants to join (no matter where in the world you live). The skein might take a while to get to you if you’re far away from NYC (yes, I will probably use cheap-o shipping) but I’ll ship out to those of you outside of North America, so comment away!
In addition, for a second chance to win, blog about this post in your own blog then come back here leaving a *second* comment telling me you did so and you have another chance right there. Just like that!
Good luck to all of you and remember to stay cool! 😉
