Sunniva

Sunniva - FINISHED

I am so excited to share this sweater and test knit with you! I just love how well this one turned out and how beautiful it is!

Sunniva - FINISHED

It took me just under a month (one day less than a month) from start to finish and I’m more than happy with the outcome! The Wollmeise in Granaptafel just sings color and I love the little lace collar (made in Malabrigo Lace)!

Sunniva - FINISHED

I love the fit of it too! I plan to wear it by itself during Fall/Spring and with a shirt under it in the Winter.

I can’t say enough good things about the sweater, the pattern (my first top-down sweater and it was very easy to follow!), and the yarn (of course!). My husband loves it, I love it and I can’t wait to be wearing this one all season long.

Sunniva - FINISHED

Pattern – Sunniva by Kristen Hanley Cardozo (project link)
Yarn – Wollmeise 100% Sockenwolle in Granaptafel (rav link | store I used) and Malabrigo Lace in Simply Taupe (rav link | store I used)
Needle – US2.5 (3.00mm) and US3 (3.25mm)
Cast on – October 8, 2010
Cast off – November 7, 2010
Modifications – Only for fit at waist and more decreases at sleeves to get a tighter fit on the forearm. If I were to do this over again I would make fewer hip increases as I didn’t need quite as many as I wound up with.

I totally recommend this pattern for everyone! Such a satisfying knit with gorgeous results! 🙂

  1. Beautiful sweater! The color looks great on you and I have to say the collar is really neat too. Something about it appeals to me. Like you said a little bit feminine.

  2. You’re right. The fit is great! Looks like it was designed just for you and I love the color you choose. That little collar is too cute and I like the peasant sleeves. You did a flawless job knitting this. I’m sure Kristen is quite pleased!

  3. Lovely! I’m way behind on my blog reading, but had seen this on Rav already – stunning colour, and a gorgeous pattern, I’m adding it to my lust-list.
