The Blue Blob Revealed

Sugar Bear Cardi - FINISHED

As a commenter so aptly questioned what the blue blob was on the last post, I thought this was the perfect title for this post… revealing the blue blob! As you can see above, it was a Sugar Bear Hooded Cardi that I made for little Tudor, who has made a couple of appearances on the blog since his birth a year ago. And can you really blame me? I mean just look at what a beautiful boy he is now!

Tudor and his parents came to visit us for an overnight stay on their way to see family in Romania, and it was great seeing them again! They all loved the sweater (and their other gifts – to be written about next time) and everyone agreed that the hoodie really makes Tudor’s cuteness rise by a degree or two. 😉

I made the two year old size so he could grow into it a bit as well – it is very stretchy, so it still looks good on him now and there’s lots of room for him to grow into it too!

The cardigan was a breeze to knit and very quick too. The only snags that I think beginners would hit would be at the decreases/increases where the pattern isn’t set and you just have to really wing it. I didn’t have a problem with it, but a less experienced knitter might be a little frustrated that things aren’t quite spelled out for you.

And I love the color and yarn! This is Becoming Art‘s Suave Sport in Lapis. Suave Sport is, sadly, discontinued, but Becoming Art has plenty of other gorgeous yarns to choose from, and I just love her colors too!

I loved knitting this one up and seeing it on this handsome boy as well!

  1. What a gorgeous wee pattern! And you’re right – that is one gorgeous wee chappie! Love the yarn and pattern combo – everything is simply perfect!

  2. Must be so great to see it on him immediately! I usually send out my baby gifts in the mail and rarely ever get a photo back with the little recipient wearing it…
