Can’t believe August is almost over and I’ve only posted once this month! Shame on me. Honestly, I don’t even know where August went to other than tons of work (have I ever mentioned how much I hate work?), keeping myself from buying yarn (this is day 41 of my 90 day yarn diet – almost halfway there!), keeping myself on a food diet (7lbs lost so far – go me!) and flying to Chicago for a mini-vacation. Oh, yeah, and of course, knitting!
I’m mad at myself for not posting here before, but I hope you will all forgive me… life has been way too busy for me lately, not that that’s any excuse, I’m sure. I do have some FO’s to share with you all but first a quick look at some adorable stitchmarkers I got the other day:
They are from Glastonbury Glassworks and are just adorable! I also love how small they are without losing details. I love that they’re glass too. I got 4 white ones and 1 black as there should always be a black sheep in any family. 😉
And in case you noticed, they are being modeled on my latest green project, a Clothilde shawl!
Yes, I knit another green shawl, but I’ve been on a green kick lately and as the Aestlight shawl went to my sister, I was in need of a green one for myself. So there.
Plus, this one is a *true* green! According to a comment on my project page by the designer, it’s the bestest green that ever greened. I love that!
I absolutely loved knitting this shawl! And with the five days I took off from knitting it (while I was in Chicago), it actually only took me four days to knit it up! It was very quick and the pattern was wonderful and easy while not being at all boring – unlike Aestlight which really bored me at times! I highly recommend this pattern for anyone who loves knitting shawlettes! And who doesn’t?!
The yarn is from the amazingly talented Georgia of Fiberphile Yarns (and you all must know how much I love her by how I’ve gushed about her for months now!). The colorway hasn’t been repeated since I bought it, but she still has many lovely shades of green available during updates.
Pattern – Clothilde by Kristen Hanley Cardozo (rav link | project link)
Yarn – Fiberphile Alchemy 2-ply Squooshy in Emerald Isle (rav link | store I used)
Needle – US6 (4mm)
Cast on – August 18, 2009
Cast off – August 26, 2009
Modifications – I added a second repeat of the Spearhead Lace chart.
I have plenty of other FO’s that I’ve done this month, but I will wait to share them with you until the next post – which I promise will be very very soon! Hope you all are doing well and I’m sorry if I disappeared from commenting too… things have gotten crazy around here but I will try even harder to comment more often!
Gorgeous green, really spectacular! I can see why you love it.
I can see why you like that green- it looks great on you! Congrats on your yarn diet- 41 days is quite an accomplishment It’s pretty funny that you know the actual numberof days, instead of a ballpark. I’m trying to see how long I can knit from stash- we’ll see!
Love it! Colour, pattern, everything 🙂 Gorgeous.
How weird, today is day 41 of *my* yarn diet (although I’m going for a year.) That is the prettiest green I’ve ever seen and you did a wonderful job on the shawl!
wow, that really is the most beautiful green I’ve ever seen! Want!
The shawl is beautiful and the color is amazing! Love the little sheep stitchmarkers 🙂
The shawl looks great. I can’t believe it only took you 4 days! What’s your secret!?!? Congratulations on your success with your diets.
The sheepies are adorable! I agree about the color of your yarn. It probably is the bestest green ever.
Beautiful green, lovely scarf. Good for you sticking to your diet(s) and knitting from your stash.
I love the shawl; the color, the pattern, the everything!
