We spent our 4th of July day doing random errands around for the move so we didn’t have a chance to have a party, like we had last year. But we had to unwind at some point! So we did a little BBQ for just us two and the dogs. It was a lot of fun and the weather, though on the hot side, was not unbearable in the evening, which made for a wonderful night!
We BBQ’d as we usually do… the dogs hanging out underfoot (nothing new there):
My summer beer of choice… Brooklyn Brand Summer Ale (diet coke for the hubby):
And some burgers made from scratch by my husband! It’s funny because we are usually total cheese snobs, but on burgers we both like Kraft American cheese (2%, please) rather than the fancier cheeses… go figure!
And they taste as amazing as they look, trust me!
And to end this yummy BBQ, the Macy’s Fireworks, which can be seen from where we live. Note that we are about 6 miles away from where they are launching these, so they are pretty huge!
These were pretty cool looking!
And of course a stray firework or two from around here would pop up. This one was particularly pretty!
All in all, a wonderful end to a wonderful evening. 😀
How did you spend your 4th of July? I hope it was a fun day for you, whether or not you celebrate 4th of July where you live!
Awesome fireworks pictures! The big fireworks display around here is funded via donations, so to save money they usually have it a few days before the 4th and we totally missed it this year, so here’s to living vicariously 🙂
Total yum-burgers! =D
I was there once for the Macy’s fireworks and the Saturns were my favorite! Wish I could’ve been there again!
Yummy-looking burgers!! 😀
hey, i don’t eat meat but those burgers look like they could convert me. love your pix. i posted some fireworks photos from the other side. i was at my friends place in NJ–amazing view.
Those photos are great! All of them. Those burgers look delish!!! So you can see the fireworks from your place. Tell me…the pics that you show…are those taken from your deck also??
Thanks, Monique! And, yes, all the pictures were taken by me from our deck. I have a telephoto lens, which is how I got some of the close up ones. 🙂
Those burgers look so tasty! I love the picture of the fireworks that look like planets! Fascinating.
Great pictures – it sounds like a really nice day (and the burgers look amazing!)
Yummy burgers, cute dog, great view – what more could you need?
Also, I’ve employed two of your suggestions for my blog, in case you wanted to check them out 🙂

Thanks for your ideas, we had fun with them!
Lina, my husband and I are exactly the same about the Kraft American, but ONLY on the burgers…we live in WI and you know how we love our cheese:)
Your fireworks pictures are beautiful. Do you have to adjust the shutter speed a lot to get such great pictures?
Have you moved yet???!! Can’t wait to hear.
Fabulous burgers and fireworks!
those fireworks pictures are great!
