It’s official, we just broke the record for snowiest month in NYC! It’s been an insane snow-driven month and as such it is hard to get pictures lately without snow coming into them one way or another. So I decided to share with you all some pictures that I took walking around different parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan and at different times of day too.
This is the cutest snow cat ever!
Although we are getting a little sick of all this snow, I have to say that it does make the city look very pretty! Until you walk into a puddle of slush that is 6″ deep and you find out that your snow boots have sprung a leak just as the wet and cold start seeping in… ugh!
On one of these cold days hubby and I had a dinner and a movie date and by total luck found the Shake Shack open! They have our all-time favorite burgers (seriously, the best burgers I have EVER had) and we like to go there pretty often. Usually, though, we go to one of their other locations in the winter as their original location is outdoor and closes for the cold. We were going to go elsewhere when we saw that they decided to put out heat lamps this winter and stay open. Awesome decision because that meant we could have yummy burgers AND stay nice and warm too. 🙂
It was nice to see that even the huge amount of snow we’ve been getting couldn’t stop us from having a yummy dinner like this. 😀
And on a more knitting-related note, I was the lucky recipient of a skein of Malabrigo Rios in the color Azules from Andrea of Life on Laffer! I’m very excited to have won and can’t wait to make something with it… I’m thinking a hat. And I have one in the works, too, of my own design… so it might be a prototype! 😀
Yay! Thanks again, Andrea!
You’re right…the snow makes the city look magical!! Great pics! Your snow looks so much more picturesque than ours!
Yeah, I’m so sick of snow but it always looks pretty in pictures!
I got SO SICK of snow after a while. Glad to see it didn’t spoil your dinner.
Of course all the snow is now gone from my home town, but I’ve intentionally run off to someplace where there is still snow to roll around in it some more. It’s a sickness I tell you 😉
beautiful pictures! and that yarn looks yummy. i haven’t seen it until now, but i keep Hearing about it! the burger looks good too:)
Gorgeous pictures. The only time I’ve ever seen NYC in the snow is on CSI 🙂
Look forward to seeing your new hat!
Wow that’s a lot of snow! The yarn is gorgeous – I have some Rios, it’s very soft!
More snow is on it’s way! Beautiful pictures of the snowy city and I want to go to the Shake Shack! They should use your photo for some winter ad campaign:)
OMG OMG OMG OMG Snow cat. Hehehehehehe.
That yarn is amazing. And Shake Shack is the bomb. You made my mouth water!!!
That snow cat sure is adorable! And those burgers look awesome – wish I had known about that place when I was in NYC last year!
