TBT: Pink! and Purple!

Going quite a bit further back for this TBT post. This is from August 2012. I made this sweater for O when she was a wee one and it lasted a long time. She wore it that entire Fall/Winter/Spring and following Fall and then Amelia wore it last Winter/Spring and it still fits her this Fall! Even though I made the 12 month size, it’s so stretchy it has lasted way longer than expected (Mia is now in 2T and some 18m sizes). It has held up great (writing this post I just realized I don’t have any pictures of Mia wearing it and shall have to remedy that) and was really fun to knit!

It wasn’t necessarily a quick knit for me because it was hard to find that time to knit back then (still is, of course, but not as bad) and also because it seems whenever I try to knit on a deadline it usually doesn’t work out. ha! This was supposed to have been knit for Ravelympics, but I didn’t get it done on time.

I really like to make things that are not in overly girly colors for my girls, but this time I went all out with the pink and purple. In the end, I don’t think it’s too much. Plus, it’s such a fun color.

And, of course, it’s Wollmeise which means it’s awesome, durable and looks good to this day! And as you can see, that’s really important when you’re talking about baby wear. Little drool monsters that they are.

  1. This sweater is absolutely gorgeous!!! So is the model 😉 So glad the sweater is holding up well. I know what you mean about the knitting time. I struggle to find the time. But I knit at least 2-5 days a week most of the time 🙂

  2. This is such a pretty sweater! And O was a beautiful baby. I love that last photo especially. I’m so glad you were able to have both girls wear the sweater, and for such a long time. I wish I’d been better at crochet when my children were babies, I would have made so much for them to wear. At least I have crocheting for grandchildren to look forward to someday, right? 🙂
