I can’t believe it, but my sweet, handsome Kubrick is now 3 years old! He had a great birthday on Friday playing, chewing Flossies, and beating up on his younger brother. 😉 Oh and he also got this new toy monkey that he just loved. He went everywhere with it during the whole day and still is reaching for it now!
In addition, he got to go to a play date in New Jersey on Saturday filled with other Havanese to play with! It was a little too hot for running around much, but we still had fun and got good and dirty to boot. 🙂
Nothing like a good scratch!
And although Kubrick isn’t in these pictures, they can give you an idea as to how much fun all the pups were having… check out all the smiles!
And here’s a last one with Kubrick in it… he got to the ball first! 😀
We go to this play date in NJ twice a year and the dogs all have a blast while there – this time there were over 40 Havanese there! Too bad it was so hot that the pups didn’t run around for too long… hopefully the one in the fall will have cooler weather for all involved as I got pretty sweaty and gross myself!
The other birthday (double dose, as in the title) is my own! Yup, my birthday is tomorrow and it’s my last birthday with a 2 in front of it. I’m sure you can figure out what that is, no? 😉 So although it’s not a special decade-birthday, I’m still pretty excited about it! We will be doing dinner tomorrow night and I already got my birthday present (an iPad – LOVE!) but since hubby was in Paris for work and just got back today he brought back my favorite – a box of macarons!
For my American counterparts who may not know, Macarons are not the same as the American Macaroon with coconut. They are these amazingly delicious little cookies with a filling sandwiched in between. If you haven’t tried one yet, I highly recommend that you do so. For me, hubby went to the best place in Paris for Macarons, Ladurée:
And don’t they look to die-for delicious? They got a little banged up in the trip, but it just made the box seem like it had even more gooey goodness than it would otherwise!
I immediately went for my favorites, Caramel and Chocolate:
Caramel won first bite… check out all the amazing caramel in it. Is your mouth watering yet?
Sorry I can’t physically share these awesome goodies with all my readers, but hopefully I have enticed you to find French Macarons in your area for you to try! And if you have tried them, maybe you can go out and get some for yourself! I think they are the perfect birthday celebratory gift. 😀
